a mission born from experience

Losing my father at eight years old in Tanzania shaped my understanding of how healthcare affects families. That experience drove me forward – from helping my family emigrate to the US, through my studies at the University of Toronto, and into my career as an actuary, analyzing how healthcare and insurance impact our wellbeing.

The problems in healthcare hit home again when my mother developed a chronic autoimmune disease. Despite being on several medications, her doctors weren't communicating with each other. A year ago, she was prescribed medications that should never be taken together – a dangerous oversight that made it clear how broken our healthcare system really is.

Then came another revealing moment: During COVID, my wife, a physician, pivoted to home healthcare. Our at-home COVID testing service grew rapidly, but it revealed something more crucial—health journeys were needlessly complex and often dehumanizing. Multiple medical records, fragmented systems, and misaligned incentives were creating barriers rather than bridges to better health.

This insight led to Navierre. As both an actuary and entrepreneur who has experienced healthcare's challenges first hand - both professionally and with my own family - I understood the complex relationship between healthcare and insurance. We're creating what I wish we'd had: a trusted companion in every family's health journey, working within a broader ecosystem to ensure no one has to navigate this broken system alone.
